Thank you for visiting my website, alexpricebooks.com. I will tell you a little about myself, and if you want to know more, please read my book.
I have lived in New York City, Manhattan, for over 40 years, and a lot has happened. I had a career as a commercial artist and photographer, a network administrator, a desktop publisher and pre-press specialist along with several other things, including bike messenger.
I made this book, because I got to the point where I really needed to create something that encapsulated the big reason for me being here in the first place, and that was the beauty and magic of the city. I have finally been able to present how I really feel about being here, and why I wouldn't want to be anywhere else.
Photography is a big part of my work as a painter, and also the capability of manipulating the images digitally. All of this I did daily in my work with design firms, but now it has become integral in creating the images that I use as reference to paint from.
I illustrated four children's books back in 1986, called the Forgotten Forest branching book series, at that time I was determined to be a career illustrator, then went a more lucrative direction, and I always felt that I had left a part of myself behind. Now I am reclaiming that part, and will hopefully continue to do so.
If you would like to send me an email, please do. -Thanks
By the way, if you would be interested in looking at some of my artwork that is not in this book, new and old work, kind of an ongoing portfolio, along with the art I created for the Forgotten Forest branching book series back in 1986, please visit:
